It is fun to sit down with family members and friends and remember good things that have happened. We might remember special occasions such as birthdays or Christmas dinners. Or we might remember places we have visited or games we have played.
In 1 Thessalonians 2:9, Paul encouraged the Christians in Thessalonica to remember the work he had done to establish their church.“Brothers and sisters, I know that you remember how hard we worked. We worked night and day to support ourselves, so that we would not be a burden to anyone while we did the work of telling you God’s Good News.”
Paul and his helpers were willing to work hard to support themselves while they preached about Jesus. They did not want anyone to accuse them of being lazy or of being a burden to members of the church. Paul was also honest and kind as he worked with these people.
God has given us the job of telling the Good News about Jesus to other people. We should be like Paul. We need to work hard and show others how they can serve God and live for Him.
