You Can Know

Our Bible Reading today tells us about four men who brought a crippled man to Jesus. Jesus healed the man and said (verse 11), “I tell you, stand up. Take your mat and go home.”
Verse 12 says that the “paralyzed man stood up. He took his mat and walked out of the room.” The man believed that Jesus had healed him, so he stood up and went on his way.
The Old Testament teaches that God requires a sacrifice so that sins can be forgiven. The New Testament tells us Jesus became that sacrifice. Jesus died and accepted the punishment for our sins.
But some Christians worry. They wonder if God has really forgiven their sins. The crippled man had faith that Jesus had healed him. In the same way, we need to have faith that our sins are forgiven.
If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and obeyed Him, you can know that you are part of God’s family. And if you ask for forgiveness, you can know that He will forgive you.
