Your Purpose

Maybe you have wondered about God’s purpose for your life. Maybe you have asked, “Why am I here on earth?” or “What does God want me to do?”
Sometimes you may think that your purpose in life is your job. But if you are a Christian, your purpose should be to serve and obey Jesus. Verse 17 of our Bible Reading today sums up this idea. “Everything you say and everything you do should all be done for Jesus your Lord (Master). And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.”
Someone has said that Christians are walking advertisements for Jesus. When other people see us at work or driving our car or in the grocery check-out line, they should see that we act like Jesus. That’s our purpose in life.
We can be like Jesus if we do the things that Paul mentions in our Bible Reading: show mercy and be kind, humble, gentle, patient, forgiving and loving. I hope you will do those things and be like Jesus today!
